This week’s choices were selected by Shawn Black of Couture Black based out of Boston, MA. He has been photographing boudoir for over 8 years and recently acquired AIBP. He is looking forward to continuing to push the boudoir genre forward.

Shawn selected this image because “The raw sensuality is what first drew me in to this image, their emotion is balanced perfectly with the pose. I love the lighting with a stark contrast from their porcelain skin to the dark environs of the shot. Finally the retouch is beautiful creating a signature look to the image.”

1st runner up is Kristen McKay from Kristen McKay Photo based out of Bangor ME.

Shawn’s comments on this image “The simplicity in this image is what makes it stand out. It is beautifully light and I especially like the incorporation of the shadow on the wall into the frame. Lastly the skin work is beautiful as I appreciate when all texture is not removed.”

Renee Lee | Be.Boudoir

2nd runner up this week is Renee Lee of Be.Boudoir based in Adelaide, Australia.

Shawn’s thoughts on this image “The vintage film look to this image completes the overall feel where the subject is wearing a glam Hollywood style robe with hair and make up to match. All the elements in this image all come together begging to see the next frame on the roll of film.”
