MONTHLY CHOICE SPONSORED BY UAF PHOTO LABS JANUARY 2024

We are happy to announce the January 2024 AIBP Monthly Choice Image Competition sponsored by UAF Photo Lab.

This month’s choices were selected by Shawn Black of Couture Black based out of Boston, MA. He has been photographing boudoir for over 8 years and is the President of AIBP. He is looking forward to continuing to push the boudoir genre forward.

Congratulations to Brianna Ellis of Brianna Lane Boudoir based in Stillwater MN.

Shawn’s comments on this image, “This image just drew me in and I’m usually not a huge fan of bridal boudoir that looks like bridal boudoir. I think there is a softness and intimacy about this image that is just captivating. Shoot ing through a veil and maintaining detail is no easy task and here it is captured beautifully. I love the black and white conversion on this as it strips away any distractions and creates this semi ethereal feel.”

1st runner up is Shelly Tilton of  Petals Lace Boudoir based in Memphis TN.

Shawn’s comments on this image “The mystery and anonymity created by the crop with this image is what drew me in. I get the feel that we are almost being made voyeurs and she an exhibitionist with this images as she emerges from the shadow and is sharing a chance moment by the window. I like the soft light across her body the complete a wonderful image.”

Kokx Studios | Adam Kokx

2nd runner up is Adam Kokx of Kokx Studios based in Western Michigan.

Shawn’s comments on this image, “I love emotion that she’s showing in this image. It feels as if she is just lost in herself as the water pours over her. I like the choice of lighting from directly overhead as it adds just another element the pours down over her body.”
