I am a Mexican photographer specializing in female portraiture\, maternity\, newborn\, and boudoir photography\, with over two decades of professional experience. My work is defined by a sensitive\, elegant\, and deeply respectful approach to each woman’s body and personal story. I am a pioneer of newborn photography in Mexico\, particularly in Mexico City\, and I continue to actively practice and evolve this discipline. Throughout my career\, I have developed a solid visual style that blends technical mastery\, refined aesthetics\, and a genuine emotional connection with my clients. I have over 15 years of experience in boudoir photography\, creating sessions that go far beyond aesthetics. My approach focuses on offering safe\, intentional\, and transformative experiences where women can see themselves without judgment\, reconnect with their bodies\, and recognize their strength\, sensuality\, and authenticity. In addition to my work as a photographer\, I am a mentor and educator for photographers in Mexico and internationally\, teaching both in-person and online courses focused on lighting\, posing\, workflow\, and personal brand development. I have participated as an international speaker and have collaborated with leading photography brands such as Nikon and currently with Tamron\, sharing a common vision of technical excellence and commitment to visual education. In addition to her professional accomplishments\, Chantal loves traveling\, exploring new foods\, and finding inspiration from different cultures and landscapes. \nShawn Black\, AIBP President \nShawn Black is the owner/photographer at Couture Black\, a boudoir studio located in Boston\, MA. He is also the new owner and president of AIBP (Association of International Boudoir Photographers). Shawn is best known for the dramatic lighting and editorial look of his images which has made him one of the most recognized photographers in the genre. He has written for and had his work featured across the top industry publications and in 2019 was named the AIBP Photographer of the Year. \nWhile being behind the camera creating will always be his first love\, he has always been passionate about pushing the genre forward and educating which is why in 2021 he acquired and became president of AIBP. DESCRIPTION:You Can’t Photoshop Trauma:\nImproving the Boudoir Experience for Trauma- Affected Clients \nClients presenting for boudoir photography are frequently harboring underlying trauma from critical events in their lives. This trauma can manifest during or around the time of their sessions in a number of different ways; some more obvious than others. \nIn this session\, Niki will discuss types of trauma-responses in boudoir clients and aims to help participants be able to identify risk leading up to a session and recognize these behaviors at the time of an appointment and predict the consequences of an unmanaged response. \nShe will suggest methods that participants can utilize in order to respond appropriately to their clients in their time of need. \nIt is Niki’s hope that by implementing these strategies\, webinar participants will be more capable of guiding their clients effectively through a trauma response to have a great session and leave feeling safe and empowered. \nTo register for this class\,\n1. After a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Ferris State University\, Niki first worked as a Detroit Police Officer. She spent time in patrol in Southwest Detroit\, working under cover\, with US Customs and Immigration and Border Patrol and also working vice as an undercover sex worker. \nAfter police work\, Niki went back to school and obtained a Degree in Nursing.  She stayed in Detroit as an Emergency Nurse and Sexual Assault Forensic Nurse Examiner for many years.  She was the Assistant Program Director for Wayne County Sexual Assault Forensic Examiners\, one of the busiest programs in the country. She obtained formal training in managing traumatized patients from the National Forensic Nursing Institute in both adults and pediatrics. She is certified SANE-A and SANE-p.  Niki has performed hundreds of forensic exams on sexually-abused patients and is qualified as an expert witness in Federal\, Circuit\, District\, and Family courts. \nTogether with her husband\, they wrote two chapters in the American College of Emergency Physicians Standards of Practice.  One chapter was Working with Law Enforcement and the other was on Human Trafficking.  During these experiences\, Niki honed critical communication and emotional skills necessary to recognize the signs of trauma-induced behavior and successfully guide affected individuals to a favorable outcome.
