SUMMARY:Unguarded Workshop: Katie Lowry-Tisler
DESCRIPTION:A workshop dedicated to the pure joy of creating. A workshop that amplifies the voices of marginalized bodies\, empowering them to tell their own unique stories through art. This will be an intimate 2-3 day experience where they will be immersed in the world of authentic connections and meaningful conversations with subjects/clients. \nAs we delve into in-depth conversations during the morning sessions\, we’ll explore the rich tapestry of personal narratives and identities. The afternoons will be devoted to individual time with clients. On the next day\, two additional clients will join us for individual sessions\, providing the opportunity to build portfolios with guidance to create authentic\, impactful art. \nThe third optional day will feature image sharing\, editing mentoring\, a live photoshoot demo\, pricing guidance\, and invaluable business-related insights to elevate your photography journey. \nAll of our models are marginalized bodies & we are learning how to create THEIR stories. SUMMARY:You Can't Photoshop Trauma with Niki Schaller
DESCRIPTION:You Can’t Photoshop Trauma:\nImproving the Boudoir Experience for Trauma- Affected Clients \nClients presenting for boudoir photography are frequently harboring underlying trauma from critical events in their lives. This trauma can manifest during or around the time of their sessions in a number of different ways; some more obvious than others. \nIn this session\, Niki will discuss types of trauma-responses in boudoir clients and aims to help participants be able to identify risk leading up to a session and recognize these behaviors at the time of an appointment and predict the consequences of an unmanaged response. \nShe will suggest methods that participants can utilize in order to respond appropriately to their clients in their time of need. \nIt is Niki’s hope that by implementing these strategies\, webinar participants will be more capable of guiding their clients effectively through a trauma response to have a great session and leave feeling safe and empowered. \nTo register for this class\,\n1. Replay will be available shortly after in the Member Education section of the website. \nFor information on joining AIBP please www.aibphotog.com \nAbout Niki: \n \nNiki is the owner of Niki Schaller Photography and Niki Jade Boudoir.  She is a professional photographer working in multiple genres for the past 9 years. \nBefore a formal education in photography\, she received extensive experience in both healthcare and law enforcement. After a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Ferris State University\, Niki first worked as a Detroit Police Officer. She spent time in patrol in Southwest Detroit\, working under cover\, with US Customs and Immigration and Border Patrol and also working vice as an undercover sex worker. \nAfter police work\, Niki went back to school and obtained a Degree in Nursing.  She stayed in Detroit as an Emergency Nurse and Sexual Assault Forensic Nurse Examiner for many years.  She was the Assistant Program Director for Wayne County Sexual Assault Forensic Examiners\, one of the busiest programs in the country. She obtained formal training in managing traumatized patients from the National Forensic Nursing Institute in both adults and pediatrics. She is certified SANE-A and SANE-p.  Niki has performed hundreds of forensic exams on sexually-abused patients and is qualified as an expert witness in Federal\, Circuit\, District\, and Family courts. \nTogether with her husband\, they wrote two chapters in the American College of Emergency Physicians Standards of Practice.  One chapter was Working with Law Enforcement and the other was on Human Trafficking.  During these experiences\, Niki honed critical communication and emotional skills necessary to recognize the signs of trauma-induced behavior and successfully guide affected individuals to a favorable outcome.
