Bold and Beautiful Boudoir

Christie is a second-generation photographer originally based in Germantown Hills, Illinois. Her passion for photography began at an early age, working alongside her mother who founded the family studio in 1977. In 2002, Christie took over the shooting, and by 2015, she became the owner of Sonshine Portrait Design—proudly carrying forward her mother’s legacy.

In 2021, she opened a custom-designed studio built by her husband and stepfather, created specifically for Fine Art Maternity, Newborn, and her signature Bold & Beautiful Boudoir sessions. Christie’s ability to get to know each client personally allows her to craft images that are not only striking, but deeply meaningful. Each portrait is truly tailor-made.

Over the past five years, Christie has boldly transitioned her business to focus almost exclusively on boudoir—now dedicating 90% of her work to empowering women through Bold & Beautiful Boudoir. This shift involved multiple phases, including selling her Illinois studio, traveling for sessions, working out of Airbnbs, and ultimately relocating her business to Georgia. Through it all, Christie embraced change, leaned into faith over control, and let her vision flourish.

Christie holds the Master of Photography and Photographic Craftsman degrees, and is a Certified Professional Photographer through the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). She has served on the American Society of Photographers Board of Directors, the International Photographic Competition Committee, and more. Since 2006, her work has earned numerous accolades on local, state, district, and international levels—including the prestigious Fuji Masterpiece Award, five Kodak Gallery Awards, multiple LexJet awards, two Certified Professional Photographerawards, and several district-level first-place wins. Her images have been featured in the PPA International Loan Collection, and she has consistently ranked among the top photographers in Illinois and the North Central District.

Today, Christie is not only an accomplished artist but a sought-after speaker—sharing her journey and expertise with photographers across the country. With a heart for giving back to the industry that shaped her, Christie continues to inspire others while redefining the modern boudoir experience.
