We are happy to announce this week’s winner AIBP Weekly Choice Image Competition!

This week’s choices were selected by Petra Herrmann the owner and lead photographer of Bella Boudoir studio based in Kansas City, MO. She is a true believer in the power of intimate portraiture. When not behind the lens she is the US representative for Floricolor albums.

Petra was just drawn to this image as it feels so real and raw. Her words, “I love the connection in this image and it feels very **real** to me, no muss, no fuss, just real.”

This image evokes so much emotion and in Petra’s words “Everything about this photo just screams. It’s evocative and powerful.”

This image was selected by Petra because “Technically it’s very well done. The lighting and the posing are spot on.”

AIBP Weekly Choice Winner 9/10/2021

We are happy to announce this week’s winner AIBP Weekly Choice Image Competition!

This week’s choices were selected by Shawn Black of Couture Black based out of Boston, MA. He has been photographing boudoir for over 8 years and recently acquired AIBP. He is looking forward to continuing to push the boudoir genre forward.

And the Weekly Choice Winner is…..

Shawn selected this image because, “I kept coming back to this image because I was captivated by the simplicity of it. It’s a simple pose with the color stripped from the image leaving you to wonder. What is her story? Where is her gaze leading? Who is she waiting for? I love the way this is lit and the black & white conversion in post production with such a stark contrast creates not distractions within the frame.”

1st Runner up this week is Stephanie Valenti of Boudoir by Stephanie Valenti.
What Shawn had to say about this image. “I love the non traditional angle this image was shot from creating semi anonymity of the woman’s face as it falls in to softer focus. The incorporation of the highlight and shadow created by the window frame is a beautiful element as it leads the eye within the image.”

2nd runner up go to Amanda Moses of Amanda Moses Photography based out of Birmingham, AL.
Shawn felt that “From her expression and pose you can feel the power with in this image. It is beautifully lit to accentuate the curves and lines of her body. And I especially like the black & white matte look conversion which gives the appearance this was shot on film..”

AIBP Weekly Choice Winner 9/3/2021

We are happy to announce this week’s winner AIBP Weekly Choice Image Competition!

This week, we are excited to have Sarah Witherington judging and reviewing the winning image.

Sarah is the owner and lead photographer of OWN Boudoir studio based in Atlanta, GA. She’s photographed over 1700 women in the last 10 years that her studio has been open and is most inspired by the transformation that clients experience after they see their OWN beauty captured in a photograph.

And the Weekly Choice Winner is…..

1st Runner up this week is Shawn Sawyer of Shawn Sawyer Photography, LLC based out of Virginia Beach, VA.
What Sarah had to say about this image. “I love all of the colors and textures in this image. The warmth of the image is only amplified by the client’s smile and she looks genuinely happy. The photographer did a great job of capturing energy in this shot.”

2nd runner up go to Kendra Jordan of Phoenix Fire Boudoir based out of Welch, OK.
Sarah felt that “This is one of those images where all of the details are conspiring together to create a standalone image. I could see the client wanting to print this image huge for their home. The textures and toning work really well and I love that the client is framed well with the drapery on the bed; drawing the viewer’s eye directly to her.”

There is a sense of sensuality with a commercial vibe, and the impact of the red sheet with black lingerie will sell the final storytelling here. It’s clearly very sensual, maybe even a little naughty, and the mood is spot on. Love this!”e.

Comments from Nino, “Almost a figure study, in some ways, but still a hugely emotional shot! Everything is in place, there is a serenity I really love about it, but still sensual and with all the right geometry and vibe. Post approach is nice, too, with the tinted monochrome working super well to really define the mood.”

2nd runner up go to Peter Driessel of Boudoir Fusion Photography based out of Randpark Ridge, South Africa.
Wise words of Nino on this image, “That’s a bold pose to work with in a bedroom, and in that outfit! This is glamorous, powerful and sexy af. There’s a story here, and it captures a strong moment. Red gloves as an accent color are a great choice, as it wraps up this shot with a final sexy touch.”
