We are happy to announce the February AIBP Monthly Choice Image Competition sponsored by UAF Photo Lab. Our guest judge for February is Tanya Smith.
As Canada’s Premier women’s portrait photographer since 2011, Tanya fell in love with the power of boudoir to change the way a woman feels about herself.
With her keen eye for details combined with her signature Flow Posing, Tanya creates a distinctive, instantly recognizable style signature.
As a newly single mom struggling to make profit in her boudoir photography, Tanya merged her expertise from corporate banking and sales to revolutionize her business. This combination of artistry and business flair gave birth to The Growth Method, a simple strategic system which enabled her to grow her studio to over $400k in sales in 1 year.
Since 2017, Tanya has been sharing her unique approach, to mentor and coach boudoir and portrait photographers to create impact and income.
Her online programs have enabled hundreds of photographers worldwide, (in every genre), to grow, and scale a successful business on their own terms. Learn more about Profitable Portraits.
Y el ganador de la elección mensual es…..
Congratulations to Lauren Schwab of High Heals Photography.
Tanya’s comments on this image “Love love the light in this one! The blue pillow with jeweled accents and her jewelry… as well as the red/orange in the background look fantastic together. And again, we have a classic pose, but done very well, and her hand on her chest looks very natural. Her face is well lit with the light spilling off to the left of the frame showing a glimpse of the rest of her body.”
1st runner up goes to Casey Brannon from Casey Brannon Photography based in Myrtle Beach.
Tanya selected this image as 2nd place because it’s “simple and fun. Love the vibe of this image- it’s sexy and fun. Tones are great here as well. Client’s pose is well done with details of the tippy toes and flexed calves. Her shirt hides just enough, and the expression and hand in her hair looks natural-which is usually difficult to make look natural. “
2nd runner up goes to Adam Kokx of Kokx Studios based in Western Michigan.
Tanya’s thoughts on this image “I normally would not like the fact that her head is cut off, but in this image it works. I love how this one is processed, with a warm yellow tone and a bit of grain… this looks like old film-love it”
This month Tanya selected 2 honorable mentions listed in no particular order below.
Kara Dunn | Déjà Revél
Comments: “Love the connection between the couple here, and the nice warm lighting adds an intimate feel while highlighting their ink.”
Greg Schuler | Schuler Studios
Comments: “great use of light and shadows here with a classic boudoir pose and the lingerie style and color adds some pop.”
